For the protection and security of the citizens of Vance County, the County Sheriff’s office has engaged cutting edge on board high speed computer technology in its rapid response vehicles.

Our Mission is to improve the quality of life for all citizens through diligent efforts to reduce crime and combat illegal drug activity while protecting lives and property.

To uphold the law through the investigation and enforcement of criminal and civil law; to provide leadership and law enforcement assistance to allied law enforcement agencies; to deliver consistent and humane treatment to those placed in our care and custody; to perform these responsibilities in a manner that is responsive to the needs of our community and is faithful to the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of North Carolina

As a citizen you can depend on the Sheriff’s Office to help make a community that is safe and trouble free. But to be truly effective, a Sheriff’s Office depends on your Support and cooperation.

Crime and accidents result in the great costs of lives, money, and pain. The Sheriff’s Office is working hard to protect you from these dangers.

Your support is vital in the Sheriff’s efforts to prevent and solve crimes, eliminate hazards in and around the community, keep the courts and jails running efficiently, and keep traffic moving smoothly and safely.

Central to the responsibilities of the Vance County Sheriff’s Office is the service of protecting the individual and property of the citizens of Vance County. We achieved this with professional well trained officers, as represented by our Patrol Division.

Our Patrol Division is in most cases the first contact that the citizens of Vance County have with the Office of the Sheriff when they need assistance.

These professional men and women are concerned about your well being and protection .  They are uniquely prepared to respond to all needs related to your safety and security. The Officers of the Patrol Division are also the first line of defense in protecting the property of Vance County citizens.
